On the 13 & 14 March 2026, Wānaka Showgrounds and Pembroke Park will come alive with fun for all. The Wānaka A&P Show is full of things to see, do, and discover – and that’s all part of the experience. From competitions and animals to local food, shopping, and live demos, there’s something for everyone at the Show. Whether you’re here with family, catching up with mates, or just going for a wander, it’s a great way to spend the day.

Blacksmith & Farrier Competition
Held in the Rural Village, witness a showcase of strength, precision and craftsmanship of this traditional rural trade. Competitors will forge steel and shoe horses under pressure – sparks may fly.
Scapegrace Show Bar
As the sun goes down, enjoy live music and classic kiwi hospitality at The Scapegrace Show Bar until 7.30pm daily, featuring Jenny Mitchell on Friday evening and Avalanche City on Saturday evening.
Boer Goats
These hardy, docile goats have featured since the earliest Shows, judged across all ages for excellence in breed standards, with their resilience and character proudly celebrated each year.

Life & Leisure Local Larder
A feast for the senses, the Life & Leisure Local Larder celebrates artisan food and drink producers from across the region. With tastings, treats, and live cooking demos, it’s the ultimate stop for foodies. In 2026 we welcome Two Raw Sisters as guest presenters and local produce champions.
NZ Strongman & Strongwoman Series
As part of this year’s Show, fans of strength sports will get to see elite strongman athletes compete as part of the national Strongman Series circuit, while local novice competitors also step into the ring, giving spectators the chance to cheer on emerging talent from the region.

Equestrian

Shepherdess ‘In Her Own Words’ Breakfast
Returning for the second year, this intimate event brings together women whose journeys have been captured by Shepherdess, for a morning of connection, storytelling, and the best of rural communities.
Silk & Circus
Silk & Circus are set to make their debut at this year’s Show. Based in Queenstown, this aerial arts and circus school is sure to inspire and entertain audiences of all ages with two captivating performances on Saturday only.

Our cattle competitions include multiple classes showcase top breeds, judged on correct breeding standards, conformation and muscle development. Junior Handler classes help nurture the next generation of skilled cattle breeders and the All Breeds Beef Youth Round Up will foster the future of cattle showing.
Shepherdess Home Industry Pavilion
A cherished part of the Show, Home Industry competitions highlight community creativity across all ages – spanning baking, preserving, growing, photography, crafts, and more. It’s a vibrant celebration of local skill and imagination and all are welcome to take part.
Mighty Mix Dog Trials
A longstanding feature of the Show, dog trials honour the partnership between farmer and dog, with handlers guiding their dogs to move sheep through a challenging course while being judged on both speed and style.

The fierce trans-Tasman rivalry of the New Zealand v Australia Veterans Axemen’s Test Series will star at the Wanaka A&P Show, bringing elite woodchopping and sawing to the heart of the onsite Rural Village.

Spread across the Showgrounds and Pembroke Park, the trade section offers plenty to explore. With upgraded picnic zones throughout the grounds, it’s easy to grab something to eat, find a shady spot, and take in the atmosphere between stops.
