The Upper Clutha A&P Society is proud to announce New Zealand agri-tech company Halter as the title partner of the 2027 Wānaka A&P Show, marking a fitting partnership as the iconic rural event celebrates its 90th anniversary.
Taking place on 12 – 13 March 2027, the 90th Wānaka A&P Show with Halter will honour nine decades of rural heritage, community and agricultural excellence while looking firmly towards the future of farming.
Founded in New Zealand, Halter is transforming livestock farming through its world-leading virtual fencing and pasture management technology. Its GPS-enabled smart collars and farmer-first software enable dairy and beef farmers to remotely move, monitor and manage cattle, helping improve productivity, animal welfare and sustainability. Today, Halter works with more than 3,500 farming businesses across New Zealand, Australia and the United States, united by its mission to help farmers run more productive and sustainable operations.
Upper Clutha A&P Society Chair Keith Cooper said the partnership represents the perfect blend of tradition and innovation. “For 90 years the Wānaka A&P Show has celebrated the people, livestock, skills and innovation that make our rural communities so special. Partnering with Halter for this milestone year is incredibly exciting because it reflects exactly where farming is heading.
The Show has always evolved alongside New Zealand agriculture, and always been farm focused. While we’ll be celebrating our rich history and the generations of farming families who have built this event, we’re equally committed to showcasing the ideas, technology and leadership that will shape the next 90 years.”
The 2027 Show will feature a year-long celebration of its landmark anniversary, including special historical displays, community storytelling, commemorative branding, and other activations highlighting the volunteers, exhibitors, competitors and supporters who have helped shape the event over nine decades.
Halter Country Director for New Zealand, Josh Townsend, said the partnership was a natural fit. “The Wānaka A&P Show is one of New Zealand’s most respected rural events, bringing together farmers, families and the wider agricultural community. We’re proud to support an event that has spent 90 years championing New Zealand farming while continuing to embrace innovation and new opportunities.”
The Wānaka A&P Show remains one of New Zealand’s largest agricultural shows, attracting more than 45,000 visitors annually and celebrating everything from livestock and equestrian competition to innovation, food, entertainment and rural lifestyle.
As title partner, Halter’s branding will feature prominently throughout the 90th anniversary celebrations and across the Show’s extensive marketing campaign leading into March 2027.
Wānaka A&P Show with Halter will be held on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 March 2027 at the Wānaka Showgrounds.
