Rachelle grew up on a sheep farm in Southland, where farming, horses and A&P Shows were simply a way of life. Her father was a director of the Southland A&P Association, so she spent many years around A&P Shows and gained a real appreciation for the people and volunteers who make them happen.
She has since worked in event management and community-focused roles, and enjoys bringing people together and helping things run smoothly behind the scenes.
Rachelle is looking forward to getting to know the section committees, volunteers and competitors over the coming months. She knows every section has its own history, knowledge and traditions, and is looking forward to learning from those involved while supporting the great work already happening.
Alongside the competitions role, Rachelle will also be coordinating the Agri Exchange, helping showcase innovation and ideas that support the future of agriculture.
