Pack a picnic and bring the whole family along to Wānaka Country Day, a free day out at the Wānaka Showgrounds on Saturday 21 November 2026.
There’s plenty to watch, with a polo display and showjumping running through the day. The kids get their own moment in the spotlight too, with the first ever Wānaka Kids Gumboot Throwing Competition. Prizes are kindly supported by local businesses, so get practising that throw.
Entry is free. Find a spot on the grass, spread out the picnic rug and enjoy a relaxed day at he Showgrounds with us.
Introducing our Best Dressed Boot competition! This one’s for everyone. Dig out an old boot, gum, riding, cowboy boot or whatever boot takes your fancy. Decorate it, paint it, dress it up and let your imagination run wild. Think funky, flamboyant, fabulous, useful, quirky or downright ridiculous.
Bring / wear your boots along and show it off at our 2pm group judging. No registration needed – just bring your boot. No boot left behind!
